White Rose Exhibit Workshop for German Teachers

Saturday, September 6, 2014
10am - 12pm

Location: Baker Hall, Carnegie Mellon University.

From October - December 2014, Classrooms Without Borders will be hosting the travelling exhibit on the White Rose, provided by the Weisse Rose Foundation e.V. Munich. Within the realm of this series of events, Classrooms Without Borders would like to invite you to attend an information seminar/workshop on the White Rose that aims to help teachers bring the White Rose to the classroom.

On the workshop agenda is a short presentation on the history of the White Rose and its legacy, including some details of the exhibit and its locations. We would also like to discuss and create possible methods for teaching the White Rose, such as outlining lesson plans and discussing teaching materials. The goal is to catalyze some interesting new takes on deepending students' understanding of German history, of morality and resistance in oppressive regimes, as well as helping teachers provide a full spectrum of history surrounding Germany's Nazi era. The more teaching material, lesson plans and ideas you bring, the better!

Morning refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by September 4th. Baker Hall is the big building next to Hunt Library on Frew Street. Once you enter the building, there will be signs that point to the event room.

We are looking forward to seeing you!
