Secret Guests: Jewish Songs from a City of Poets

Classroom Without Borders invites you to "Secret Guests: Jewish Songs from a City of Poets" with the famous Jewish actress and singer Ruth Levin (Israel) in the Bellfield Auditorium, Bellfield Hall, South Bellfield Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15260. Ruth Levin's recital is accompanied by the classical guitar player Alexei Belousov (Russia/Israel). The concert will be devoted to Yiddish art and folk songs written by Jewish poets from Eastern Europe. There will be a reception following the concert.

The event with Ruth Levin and Alexei Belousov initiated and organized by Prof. Amy-Diana Colin (University of Pittsburgh/City for the Cultures of Peace) received the support of several Departments, Programs, and Centers at the University of Pittsburgh: the Department of German, the Music Department, the Jewish Studies Program, the Cultural Studies Program, the Humanities Center, the European Union Center of Excellence/European Studies Center, the Center for Russian and East European Studies, the Global Studies Center, and the Dean of Undergraduate Studies. The City for the Cultures of Peace, Classroom without Borders, and the Sehgal Fund in Memory of Dr. Kuldeep Sehgal of The Pittsburgh Foundation are also co-sponsoring this event.
